Alves de Sousa, Caldas Reserva Touriga Nacional 2021

Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the Alves de Sousa family have been making wines in their 25 ha of vineyards named "Quinta da Gaivosa" now for 5 generations. Using a holistic approach to farming by combining nature, a shared history and a personal flair for indigenous grape varieties, Alves de Sousa proudly make properly authentic Portuguese wine. Caldas Reserva Touriga Nacional 2021 is a deep ruby in colour with an intense nose of black plums, graphite and violets along with some oak. The palate is well-structured, with a bright acidity and flavours of blackberry, cassis and vanilla culminating in a pleasantly long finish. A great wine for those who love bigger, bolder reds.
